Three West Shore Emergency Medical Services’ EMTs and a paramedic were recognized last week by a patient whose life they saved. Dr. Robert Bowser of Camp Hill was running errands at a local dry cleaner when he had a heart attack. EMTs Christopher Conroy, Michael Felsman, Benjamin Kirkpatrick and paramedic Clayton Wood responded and saved his life. Dr. Bowser personally thanked them and the 911 operator, Steve Overmiller, at a special ceremony at the Emergency Health Services Federation. Dr. Bowser stated, “There is no doubt in my mind, were it not for their caring, their tenacity and their efficiency, expertise, I would not be here today.” He also thanked the ER staff and physicians, Moffitt Heart and Vascular Group, the nursing staff at Holy Spirit Hospital and his family for the care they provided. Larry Roberts, Steve Poffenberger and Paul Christophel from West Shore EMS as well as the Emergency Health Services Federation staff also were recognized by Dr. Bowser.
