when st 4 gets dispatched, why does 911-eoc also state "truck 42 to respond", when they have already dispatched, "station 4," wouldn't that also include the truck and or rescue if needed. don't understand the concept of dispatching a full house and then segregating another dispatch for the rescue or truck.

Very simple method. When they dispatch staion 4 that is for the Engine Company. In franklin and Cumberland COunties on some calls it request a single Engine and they dispatch it as a single Engine from __. When all Engine's are requested they dispatch it as the Company. The truck and Squad and whatever else our dispatched as another company. You know engine company, truck company, Rescue/Squad Company. got it know. I hope I explained it well enough, if not jsut pm me. Keep it safe out there all.

I think what he is qiestioning and so do I, is why, when a house is due with both their engines and special service, do they annouce it all.
ie; 7 box, why not just annouce Co 7, instead of Eng 7, Sqd 7 and Amb 7? The people in your station should know what's due on your calls.

exactly, thank you maytag, it just seems repititious to me, when you dispatch, please follow me, for example, " station 4, co 1 engine, truck 42, truck 1, squad 41, medic from 100." it would seem to me when you dispatch station 4, you get all of station 4, and not just special vehicles from same station. and when you dispatch again, " engine 43, engine from 1, truck 1, brush 4?, and medic from 100," one would think that's exactly what you are going to get, unless something is oos. any thoughts?

I can hit this nail right on the head...
Franklin County (except Urso, Goshorn,Denham and Clopper) hires, who ever brings knee pads in for their interview. They have a bunch of freakin retards working there I swear to god. These girls they have working there, had to have been prostitutes before they came to work there. Now they are reminising old times, seeing who can swallow the most microphone when they dispatch a call. It's one of those "it's who you know, and who you blow" deals again. I know someone who has applied and intervied numerous times, (a hell of a good guy at that) and because he does not meet Michelle under her desk before the interview, she doesn't ever return his phone calls. Theres your answer.. Big House.. I'll tell you what they're the Big House Of !!!

Companies not running their special service in their first due, NO . You would think in 2004 you wouldn't have this. It is bad in some pplaces you have a truck sitting in your station and if the station would catch fire that truck wouldn't be due. Have to wait on the BIG HOUSE to come. Why, the answer from some is manpower. Well instead of running two engines out run one with the truck, makes sense doesn't it. You only have how many engines coming right up your A S S. Come on people I think it is time to work smarter not harder here, run da truck and leave an engine sit, or if you like your engines put the for sale sign on the truck. AXE

Hey AXEman, I think I know were you are going with this but to some people that has been a set policy for a number of years and why change a good thing. I know of a department that does exactly that wait on the (so called) big house to come and do the truck work BUT I do not think there is a lot of waiting. If there is truck work to be done they do that as well. Nothing like a big kosher DILL pickle rolling up on the fire scene.

It seems like we have several issues going on here. Tower 56 without being Jerry Flasher himself (EOC head honcho) don't think we could tell you why that Franklin County does the things they do.
And as far as the other issues. Johnny it sounds like you have issues with the whole county. Meaning any one other than you and your company (whoever that may be) are the only one who can do things right. My advice to you is, if this place is so bad there are several counties around us that you can move to. But, seems you would probably find issues with them too.
The whole truck issue I neither agree with or think it is wrong, however what I do think is at least people are thinking about there community when they make their box cards instead of worrying about the politics. If you know you would be unable to get 3 pieces or maybe just 1, it would be smart to get some help from other companies. You know alot of things in the fire service has become all about the glory of a single company rather than worrying about the community we are supposed to be serving.
