Brent L. Scott, 43, of 2 Sandy Spring Court, Apartment 1, Thurmont, and formerly of Waynesboro, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, in his home.
Born July 22, 1963, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Joyce (Clopper) Scott of Waynesboro and the late Randolph Scott.
He graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School in 1981. He graduated from the Western Maryland Police Academy in 1988.
At the time of his death, he was a bail bondsman for Jim Franks Bail Bonds, Frederick. He was a former deputy sheriff for the Frederick County Sheriff's Department and was a security officer with American Securities Corp., Rockville, and Kmart Corp. He had been an emergency medical technician since 1981.
He attended both Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, and Trinity Lutheran Church, Rouzerville.
Mr. Scott was a life member of Blue Ridge Mountain Fire and Rescue Squad and a past member of Fountaindale Volunteer Fire Department, Waynesboro Ambulance Squad and the Train Collector's Association.
He enjoyed collecting flags and displayed them on East Main Street, Waynesboro, during Fourth of July celebrations.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepmother, Donna Scott of Mont Alto; one brother, Arley Scott of Littlestown; his stepgrandmother, Katherine Scott of Waynesboro; one uncle; and two nieces.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Scott.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Evangelical Lutheran Church, at the corner of South Church and West Second streets, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Richard Seaks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Lochstampfor Funeral Home Inc., Waynesboro.
