How I spent my Friday Night 2-1-08 3 Alarm Fire, Cincinnati, OH Old St. George Church. Tops of both Steeples burnt off but no extension into main part of building. 10 Engines and 7 Trucks and both heavy squads.

I'm sorry the church burnt but I have to say those are some cool pictures. But I have to ask, how did just the two steeples burn and nothing else ? Not even the roof ? We need details man !!! I would imagine someone pissed the bed that night for playing with matches.....

Sorry for the late response, Missed your reply. The CFD got lucky that night. The church had a slate roof and massive amounts of water that the ladder pipes applied to the base of the steeples kept the fire from extending into the church.

I have still have not heard an official cause of the fire but I heard some discussions about the electric clock mechanism. I still thing it was pigeons smoking in the Steeple ;D Heck 3 hours into the fire I saw two pigeons flying from the left steeple!!
