Why does a Duty Chief have to go responding for a Air Unit? When is someone going to take these idiots over before they hurt some one? What a waste of my tax dollars,

Yes, because it sounds "cool" ;D ;D I agree on the "waste of tax dollars". I wish the chiefs assn or county commissioners would give the unit to a department that would ensure prompt and EFFICENT service.

You have to wonder why the county lets a county owned vehicle to be parked outside a private residence. To be parked outside where anyone could tamper with it. To allow people to live in it (back to the motel 6 incident). And of course my most recent favorite...having a member of this unit charged as a Police Impersonator and only get suspended for 2 weeks but not expulsed from the unit.
I'm sure glad my squad has a cascade to refill my bottle. I feel so much safer with that in mind.

My other question is when was the air system last tested?

Air Testing What's that ;D ;D TOP 5 REMARKS : #5 Headquarters Duty 10 responding. Oh yeah, Headquarters Air 10 and the Duty Officer is responding along with the Deputy Fire Chief .... ;D # 4 The Parade of vehicles following behind the air unit to the scene. ;D # 3 Oh right, pull over. This is a "traffic stop" (To serve and protect). ;D # 2 "Motel-10" ;D # 1 Can we "mooch" fuel from you for the unit. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Only the officer's of the first due company, checks up on the air responding. Do you think they really care if Air 10 comes with an officer? ? I also feel this county needs to do something about the air unit. So, does anyone have any Idea to fix this problem?

Well Mr.Undertaker, One more time your talking out your@@@, The coroners wagon goes out more the 12 times a year.I talked to the coroners office staff & it goes out more times in month then the Air Unit goes out in a month. This is why people get on here and talk about how stupid your people are,, Also your more then welcome to talk to my Chief, because I don't have one,,,, PS, So why don't the Officers of The Franklin County Air Unit attend the Chiefs meeting and start asking for stuff or go to alliance meetings or start talking to your local Government people,,,

I heard at one time they didn't want to move the unit, on the south end of Chambersburg.
I think a good fix to this would be to move AIR 10 to the training center. Manpower for the unit could come from area Departments. Each department could take turn on getting the air out. This would put the AIR unit in the middle of Franklin County and it would be stored in a climatic controlled building.

One bad apple. You have got to be kidding me. Better look a bit further in that closet undertaker. There are more skeletons in there than a halloween party.

Ok, I have a question that I don't understand or know how to resolve. I understand that the Air Unit has an active member that is on DISABILITY. I would think there would be an issue with this, especially if this person would get hurt. If a disability person would get hurt, and they found out the person was on a fire call, wouldn't the disability get cancelled? Just wondering how that works.

They are above the rules and regulations doesn't eveyrone know that. And Louie quit defending your brother Greg. He dug his hole. Maybe you should let him know how it is at the Franklin County Hilton.

OK Lets put this one to bed. It is now way out there. Everyone has their own opinion of the Air Unit and some of its members SO lets just leave it there. Chief Tanner needs to get it in control and thats the bottom line.
I'm going to lock this thread because it is airing dirty laundery and I am just as much a part of it as everyone else who has posted to this but it is time to shut this one down.
