Hey Y'all!!! It's that time again. We're gearing up for another picnic. This is our 3rd and we've had a good turn out in the past. This year sounds like it's gonna be even better! Let's hope the weather isn't too unbareable! If it is, you can always cool off in the creek!
We've had a request to do another hog roast. And far be it for us to disappoint the masses! Water and soda will also be provided. We just ask that, if you decide to come, you bring a hot or cold dish to share. I guarantee there will be lots of good food...enough to go around.
Come join us if you're able. Blacks Woods on McFarland Road, just off Findley Road. 4 PM Saturday 7/29.

Well, the picnic was last night and it was another scorcher. Thanks to everyone that showed up. We had a good time and LOTS of good food to eat. Thanks to Jody for doing such a succulent hog. It was delicious!! Thanks to our standby crew, Mont Alto. Glad you didn't have to leave us for a call. We were joined by some of the gang from Medic 56, Medic 2, Co 2A and Co 18A. The Fire Board was well represented as well as Peter Township and Mercersburg PD. Even a Franklin County Commissioner braved the heat and humidity to socialize. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek. You had to drag them out just to get them to eat. Abby and Crystal once again took their chairs down and set in the creek. I know how relaxing that is, too. Especially on such a hot day. The best event of the evening was watching Dusty and Jerry trying to open those frozen T-shirts. And Jerry was brave enough to try his on. I promised Dusty if he could get his opened, I'd put it on. and believe me, it felt WONDERFUL after being so hot all day.
So, thanks again to all who came and all who helped. Especially to my Social Committee, Jody and Darla. Good job!! It was a great ending to a stressful week. We look forward to next year's.
