It would be a great gesture (and the absolute right thing to do) if the New Chief would make it mandatory (or at least try and make it mandatory) for every member of his dept. to attend this ceremony. Jack was and still is a legend in DC and Pa. Jack passed while operating on a Co. 1 Box Alarm so I believe it would be fitting for every member from Co. 1 to be in attendance. I know everyone has a busy life, as do I, but this is a pretty big deal. Having a firehouse named after you in Washington, DC is a big deal no matter where you are from, career or volunteer. Their is only 1 house named after a fireman that I know of. I am not sure if the New Chief is aware of this event or not but he needs to make a genuine effort to have all his members in attendance.
