On Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, Franklin County lost one of it's finest sons, Bissett Jeremiah "B.J." Roberts Jr. I have had the pleasure of knowing him personally for numerous years. We at Medic 2 were fortunate to have him as our Vice President. You always knew where you stood with BJ. There was no guessing. He always told you the way it was without any apologies. Personally, that's the way I liked it. I made sure that I extended to him the same courtesy. He was one of my best friends. We could always, "put the cards on the table" but we always knew how each of us felt about the other because we told each other so. There were numerous refreshments downed at his, "Maryland Office." There were dinners together with our wives. There were visits at "the farm." We are all, "on the clock," even though you might live under the illusion that you are, "on salary." Don't wait! DO IT NOW! Appreciate one another while you can. I'm gland that I did not wait to tell BJ what a great friend he was. Had I have waited, it would have been too late and I would have never had the opportunity. (At least not in this life.)
