Introduction to the Fire Service
a PA State Fire Academy and Harrisburg Area Community College
December 7 and 14, 2008 at 0800 hours.
THIS IS A FREE COURSE AND EVERYONE IS WELCOME

STUDENTS NEED TO HAVE DELMAR FIREFIGHTERS HANDBOOK AND WORKBOOK!
This course is designed to introduce new firefighters to basic
information including an overview of the fire service, fire service organization, firefighter safety, personal protective equipment and terrorism awareness. This is the first of four courses in the curriculum.
Student Equipment/Supply Needs: Pen/Pencil, Notebook; Firefighter’s Handbook (must remain in possession of the student throughout the entire course); Firefighter’s Handbook Student Workbook/Skill sheet book (Must remain in possession of student at the end of the program); helmet, gloves, turnout coat, turnout pants, boots, protective hood,and protective eye wear (safety glasses or goggles).
