EHSF – Request communications from departments that have significant rescues and/or saves.
- Licensure updates – 2 fire extinguishers per ambulance, triage tags must be SMART, tool box optional, activated charcoal no longer required.

Pre Hospital Systems Committee (EHSF) – being redeveloped

FCESA – Radio show and tell at Co 15

SCTTF – EHSF in process of returning some of the logistic equipment previously purchased to support deployments.

LEPC – HEPI presentation postponed until an unknown date in March. More to come. Doug Bitner, Vickie Negley, and a rep from Med-Media and Kimball will be present.

Bill Little presented information regarding a discussion with FCFCA Chair regarding a meeting merger between FCEMSC and FCFCA. Discussion followed. Asked to review this idea and be prepared for discussion next month.

Question raised regarding EMS department access and utilization of Med 11. Recent incidents again presented the problem of units needing it not having it.

WH – Moving MRI from Welty to the hospital – timeline is 6 months. BARF forms being tested tomorrow

EHSF – Weds night Advisory committee, and Board of Directors. Looking to get additional funds for HEPI project.
EMT Instructors – take an instructor update at the region and be monitored by one of the folks at the EHSF office.

Co. 12-possibly purchasing a new ambulance by the end of the year
Co. 4 – no report
Co. 18 – No EMT class at this time; Blue Ridge and Marion approved for EMT classes
-in recent past Co. 18 had 20 inquiries for EMT class; Co. 12 had recently at least 5 inquiries; discussion about how to solve issues with EMT training classes; potential exists to work with the Region, PIAHS and the EMS council to develop Franklin co. training.
Co. 100 – new bariatric truck in service; need to move someone over 350lbs; cot good for 850lbs and 1650 on the ground and over 32 inches wide, call FC 911; one for this area; call if needed but may be in use already on another call.
Co. 200 – PHTLS successful
WH – hospital will not provide wheelchairs for wheelchair transports -would like to see longer BARF reports; more info. needed
CH- no report

Education – Co. 18 looking for a CPR class; possible PHTLS class in October

EHSF – (Ernie Powell, Carla Eisenburg) EKG symposium May 1,2,3, 4 LGH and Hershey; May 29th 1330 OSHA and EMS class in Lancaster; EMS instructor enrichment classes being attended in Ohio by Federation-EMT instructor class soon to be available on LMS; EMS week activities scheduled; June 13th NREMTP practical exam in Franklin co.; Med radio survey on EHSF website needs to be filled out by each service.

LEPC – plans for HEPI presentation within next quarter.

FCFCA – nothing to report

Pre Hospital Operations Committee (EHSF) – Bryan Smith new Chair. Points for discussion – Critical Care transports, BLS glucometers, retention and recruitment, accommodations pins/bars. Next meeting May, 2nd Tuesday @ 1000 hrs. Request members at large to participate.

FCESA – Tower site all done. Now need make decision whether to go with the current digital system or change to a digital trunking system. If you purchased radios that are P25 compliant then you should be able to update to the trunking system. FCESA and FCFCA are in support of the upgrade.
Motion: DLutz, D Wadell FCEMSC support move to digital trunking system. Appr.
Looking into selling maps similar to what was given to the departments except it will be done at 2000 ft overview.

- Craig Myers presented a review of ICS, presentation attached.
- Steve Sites presented review of aero medical situations within Franklin co.; FCDES to connect with PEHSC aero medical sub group to acquire latest terminology for us to use within Franklin Co.; FCDES will not automatically call for a helicopter at dispatch until a field provider requests a helicopter. Feed back is requested by FCDES to EMS council for the August meeting on common terminology.

Stat Medivac – presented statistics Jan – Jun 2009
121 requests, took care of 66% of them, about 30% went to Life Lion.
Special visitor from Life Lion – Dale Maljevac

Department Reports:

Co. 9- spec new ambulance to replace amb 9-9.

Co. 2a – new Asst chief Chris Reed

Co. 3 – new railway hub in Antrim Twp for Norfolk-Southern construction beginning Spring 2010, open in 2011 and discussion followed.

Co. 4 – Ron Face is new Fire Police Capt.

Co. 100 – no report

Co. 200 – new truck in service. Filled full time paramedic, still looking for full time driver

WH – soon to see construction to get MRI trailer to building

CH – building project a go ahead. New building in rear, take about 2 years to complete. Will contain med surg, critical care and cath lab.
Saw more than 5000 patient in the ED in June.
Lots of H1N1 planning going on. If over loaded ED becomes H1N1 unit and overload to Same Day
Have lots of EMS equipment
Door access change to FOB Aug 31.

Education –
Respiratory protection N95A train the trainer this quarter, one class in each county Sept 8th in Franklin County at new DES at 1800

FCEMSC has 4 seats to this committee
