The "Pride of the Hill" SMVFD is proud to announce the purchase of it newest engine to be added to it's fleet and will be replacing the aging Mack known as Engine 16-1. The engine was purchased from Falls town Maryland. Below is a brief overview of the engine. Currently the engine is being painted the department colors and having some minor odds and ends done before returning to the hill for operation. Pictures should soon be on Company 7's web site as was promised by their members when they were up to check it out the other week.

Amthur Aluminum Body w/ High Side Compartments Drivers Side
1000-Gallon Poly Tank
1250 Waterous Pump (Rebuilt in 2004 and Certified)
Waterous Dependable Air Pump Shift- New in 2000
Pre-Piped Deck Gun
Front Suction
Pre-Piped 1½ discharge w/hose tray for 100’ 1¾ hose front bumper
2- Pre-Piped 1½ Discharges over Pump Housing for 200’ plus of 1¾ Hose
Rear Hose Bed w/3 dividers capable of holding 1,000’ 4” or 5”
2- 2 ½” Discharges on rear
2 Storage compartments to rear of Vehicle
6 KW Onan Diesel Generator
2- 500-Watt Quartz Lights mounted to rear of Cab
Motor Specifications: 8V71 Detroit Diesel
Transmission: Allison HT740- 4 Speed

Hey oldschool when is the engine going into service. Also did the Mack leave yet or is it still for sale?

hey rider the engine should be here by the 30th and in service by may 14th we still have to mount equiment and do driver training and a few other things . She is real sweet The bulldog is in a safe place and is sold .We are looking forward to placing the new / old 16-1 in service.

Any pictures of the New Engine. Also where was the bulldog sold to? I understand an organization from Alabama was interested in it. From what I herd it was the same group that bought old Engine 16-2.

The bulldog is heading south to bamma the same person who got the other one, so your info is correct . As for photos i,ll see what i can do ,i,ll let you know .
