So i'm throwing the idea around in my head about buying a leather helmet. However, i don't want to go buying a brand new one and not like it.
So i guess what i am asking is, does anyone have a used leather that is still in firefighting shape they are looking to get rid off?
I know that once a leather gets broken in its a priceless artifact to some but hey, you never know.
Anyway.........if anyone has one or has some ideas for me to throw around, PM me.

Leather? Is that so you don't bump your head getting in the CPR seat? Or is that what you wear when you force entry through a glass storm door and the hammer bounces off the door and comes back at you?

I'm just kidding...maybe if you got a leather helmet you would see the light and come towards it. And not the light from the bandaid box.

No problem. I was just curious as it reminded me of a situation I was involved with some years ago.
We were extricating a patient through a rear window from a vehicle on its roof. As we were getting out, the side of the face shield hooked on something, I forget exactly what. Since we were out of the vehicle but still not in a standing position, I removed the, "soup bowl" and gave it a slight pitch to the blacktop side of the roadway approximately three feet from where we were. We then corrected an airway problem, loaded the patient and got ready to leave the scene. I picked up the "helmet" and discovered a rather large crack at the top. I was amazed at this and also caught hell for cracking it. I wondered what would have happened to my head if I had really received a substantial blow from something.
I purchased a leather helmet right after that and have had it ever since.
