The passing of Brother Larry Meminger has come as quite a shock to the members of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department and many others in the County. The fire service community has truly lost a legend. Larry Meminger was the son of Ted Meminger senior (past Chief of the FVFD) and the Brother of Ted Meminger Jr. Larry is responsible for starting the Junior Firefighter program at Fayetteville in 1972. This program was a great success and helped to launch many programs like it in Franklin County and beyond.
If you ever served as a Junior Firefighter for any department, you were able to do so because of Larry Meminger.
I ask that everyone reading this thread please keep Larry’s family and 13 year old son Cree in your thoughts and prayers.
Larry Meminger was a great firefighter, a wonderful friend to everyone he met and a tremendous father to his only son.
Rest in peace my brother...
Respectfully submitted by, Scott Reichenbach
