This from The Greater Chambersburg Area Paid Firefighters Association Local 1813 Web Site.
What if you had a fire
AND NOBODY CAME?
***
That is exactly what could happen if the Chambersburg Borough Council follows the recommendations of the Emergency Services Chief.
***
The Chambersburg Fire Department is grossly understaffed and the Emergency Services Chief is recommending eliminating a Career staffed (24/7) engine company from service, which could effectively put the lives of you and your neighbors at risk.
***
Join us in protecting the lives and property of the citizens of the Borough of Chambersburg by contacting your Elected Officials and letting them know that you are not in favor of reducing the number of Career staffed (24/7) engine companies and placing the lives of you and your neighbors at risk.

What a shame the Borough Council of Chambersburg is once again attempting to short change the residents and visitors of Chambersburg by attempting to cut staffing for the department. Is it not bad enough that the borough has been for years short changing the citizens and visitors what less than acceptable staffing for the emergency services of this area. The police have asked for 2 more officers and the response is it costs too much. I say let one of the esteemed council members or the borough manager or for that matter how about the mayor suffer some type of personal tragedy and not have the services there to be provided to them. Lets see how long it takes them to add staffing. Think long and hard about this before you vote .
