It is with our deepest sorrow that we share this news with you. This past Saturday, June 23, 2007, Washington Fire Company President Robert Dietrich quietly passed away. Bob was 55 at his death dedicating 41 of his years to protecting residents and property in the Borough of Mechanicsburg as a “Washieâ€.
In addition to Company President, Bob was also currently serving in the positions of Safety Officer and Fireman’s Relief Representative. In the past, Bob also served the company as 2nd Assistant Chief, Captain. Lieutenant, Recording Secretary, Vice President and Board of Directors.
Many, many people in the regions emergency services knew Bob well as he was always quick to greet new people, guide the little ones on their first fire house visit, and shake hands with old friends. We can not replace him.
