www.friendshipfirecompany.comSome parts are still under construction. We're carrying a digital camera on the engine, so it should be updated often of incidents, etc.

have a question, why is it every time that i try to looke for a website, it comes up with a pic of your new engine and the chiefs name, and nothing else. does your department have a current website, would like to know, so i can add to my fav list and keep looking back for new stuff that you put in. also i have heard that you are selling one if not two of your old engines, i seen a pic of i think the old 1-4, that needmore is thinking about buying, and that our station is buying the old beer truck for our supposed hazmat/decon team. can you give me any insight or email adresses. would appreciate your website address if you have one as well. thanks

Thank's for the inquiry. As you know and have found out, according to your post, when you type www.chambersburgfire.com, you only get a picture and a small sentence saying about the Chief's name and phone number. Though it would be nice to actually take this website name and put it into a full blown website, I do not see this happening anytime soon. (long story). I did create a website a couple of years ago through fire-ems network, which now has been taken over by firehouse.com. It's just a generic website with information, but its better than nothing. The Friendship Fire Company has been progressing over the years and becoming more involved in activities. For instance, SU-1, though its painted yellow and looks like a "CFD" piece, is actually owned and maintained by the Friendship Fire Company. There may come a time that it "could" be repainted because it does cause some confusion to the public, etc. People think its just another CFD piece, so theirs no actual company recognition. The Friendships are also "discussing" the possibility of getting an engine or engine/tanker in the future. (It's a morale, pride thing as fire companies and volunteers have been dwindling over the years, reaching out and trying to hold on to "your own" can help to inspire morale, when you can call it "yours"). Anyway, we are planning things in the future for fund raisers, etc besides the ones we currently do. We have an Easter Egg Hunt for the community coming up sponsored with MIX95 and other events coming in the future to raise funds, etc. Anyway, getting back to the point of your question about the webiste, the Friendship Fire Company has decided since their isn't a "true" CFD website, that we would design one and kinda make it a partial website, basically designed for, and around, the Friendships (McKinley Street Station), but it would involve the borough since most of our calls are in the Borough. So you can continue to check the www.FriendshipFireCompany.com website for the endeavors of Chambersburg Borough. I am familiar with the purchase that Fulton County is working on and helped inspire that situation and think that is great. Needmore is looking at possibly both engines as a "Twins". I hope that process goes through for them. Though one is a 1976 and the other a 1978, I still think they look "modern". Most 70's era peices have a "old time" look, where these still look like "today's" apparatus. Don't get me wrong, they will need some work, but could be a good thing for Needmore to use. Unfortunately, they probably won't stay the true "Real War Wagon" color of YELLOW. ;D Any other questions, just ask.....

thanks for the info, gigs, really do appreciate it, i think that it would be a great thing for needmore as well, because i would rather have a crap load of equipment respond to a scene and wait for orders, than wait for the equipment to show up for major incidents. one wise old man, told me that long time ago, when i was a member with co 3, in allegany county maryland. to think that needmore would actually have 3 engines, that would be way to cool. actually it might help interdepartmental relationships with the three companies within the fulton county area. also thank for the chambersburg fd info, i thought the cfd would have their own website for other companies to view and all, but you never know, hopefully somewhere down the line, they will. again thanks.
