What is your most memorable fire?
Mines would have to be the Washington House fire on the corner of Lincoln Way East and Second Street.

WOLF AVENUE COMPLEX (around 1986 area; bad memory when it comes to exact years). Other fires worth mentioning: as stated above Washington House, Moores Building, St Pauls Church.

If I remember right, which maby I don't but The Washington House burnt down in 1998, and I believe that it went to 4 alarms, i'm am not sure though, I can't remember the date or time that it happned.
Wolf Avenue Complex was another big fire that came to mind, I believe this fire went to 5 or 6 alarms. 1986 sounds about right.

How about the Baer Packing Building on North Carlisle street in Greencastle! Unsure on the # of alarms but it was a "you all come now" event! No offence to anyone!

It figures Maytag would bring up fires from the '70s. How about the Frick fire? All these are the big ones. I think my most memorable fire is my first fire. Just a single family in the 4-2 box area in 1983. Boy was I scared poopless.

It's not a Franklin County fire but worth mentioning.
The Glenn Miller/Victory Theatre Fire in Shbg. Will never forget hearing Chief 4 Ed Goodheart on the air screaming for second alarm as he was walking out of his house and then cursing on the air at county when they told him they didn't have an ETA for penelec to the scene. Believe the fire went 4 alarms. Many units from Cumberland & Franklin were their not to mention the air buggy from Washington County also was their.
